Paul Downey Sports and Landscape Artist (Available work)

I am an accomplished and experienced artist and I concentrate on painting images of sporting action as well as the landscape that I am blessed to have all around me.

I live and work in Killarney, Co. Kerry, Ireland and I have been involved in sport of one kind or another since I was a young man. Perhaps this gives me an insight into the dynamic and motivation of sportspeople that many other artists might not fully understand.

Another string to my bow is my interpretation of the majestic and world famous landscape I am surrounded with in the Southwest of Ireland.

I paint in watercolour, acrylic and oil and I welcome you ro scroll through images of my work and to contact me with any questions you may have at

A work from the past. A pivotal moment from the All Ireland Football Final of 2007 between Kerry and Cork. Early in the game the great Colm Cooper gets a touch on a high ball to deflect the ball to an empty net. Acrylic on canvas (1.20m  x 1.00m) Acquired by a private client who presented it on loan to Kerry Library Service.
